MataMata, The Land of Hobbits

Every of you must have been watching Lord of The Ring, the film trilogy consists of three fantasy-adventure films: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Two Towers (2002) and The Return of the King (2003). The trilogy is based on the three-volume book The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien. In this movie you can see the two Hobbit, Frodo and his loyal companion Sam, They both have a quest to destroy the ring which made by the Dark Lord Sauron. If you curious about the life of hobbit, you can find it in MataMata, The land of Hobbiton. Matamata is small rural place in New Zeland. It is known for its unpolluted air and beautiful scenery.

Matamata was chosen to be the site of Hobbiton, home of hobbits, in the Lord of the rings film! The movie company had a new road made to reach the remote set. They also had 37, ‘hobbit-homes’, built, into grassy hillside. This style of home is environmentally friendly, because the earth-covered walls and grassy roof, reduce amount of heat they lose. When filming was over, the company was about to have the set destroyed so that they did not spoil the beautiful natural habitat. However, they received thousands of requests from fans to visit Hobbiton, so they changed their minds. The company was against leaving the whole set, but agreed to leave hobbit homes. Now thousands, of visitors, a year flock to the site. If you ever visit, remember, to get your photo taken in Frodo’s hobbit home.
